Craniosacral Therapy
What is craniosacral therapy? The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that cover and protect the brain and spinal cord from injury. If there is an imbalance or restriction in the system, it could cause sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities. This may include chronic pain, migraines, eye difficulties, stress- and tension-related problems, chronic fatigue, emotional difficulties, temporomandibular joint syndrome, orthopedic problems, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments, and learning disabilities. The practitioner uses a light touch to test for restrictions in the craniosacral system by monitoring the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid as it flows through the system. Manually, the therapist assists the mechanical forces to improve the balance and function of the craniosacral system.
